MJPEG compression ratio

Is the compression/quality ratio for the MJPEG codec capped at a certain value, or is it dependent (within obvious limits) on how much info you can dump to hard drive? Or, to put it another way, if I fit a raid array will I be able to reduce the compression even further than I can at the moment?

It's capped according to your cards abilities. The Marvel stops at 6.6:1 for MJPEG, whether or not your harddrives breathe fire.
