The rotation to portrait view is pretty lame without a switch in the monitor and support in the driver to automatically rotate and move things around on the desktop. Does the Samsung have this?

My Wife's Viewsonic has the rotation, but you have to make a menu selection or hot key after doing the rotation. I thought this ruined a very good idea. Since most of my photography is portrait mode 1200x1600 would usually be better than 1600x1200.

well, I've gotten halfway to my decision...

I ordered a 15" LCD for the second machine. I ordered a Dell 1504FP (they had 10% off and free shipping). I'm anxious to see how it works. I'm fairly convinced I'll like it for the roll it will play, which is letting the kids work/play where I can keep an eye on them, as well as the wife and me surfing, word processing, etc.

      Now as for me...

I'm 95% sure I'm going CRT, and likely 19". I've been looking at the sony CPD-410R. Nice specs. I've also looked at the Iiyama models.

The sony uses the Sony Trinitron, and the Iiyama uses the Diamondtron NF. Any suggestions on different manufacturers (NEC/Mitsu) that use the same tubes without the premium of Sony or Iiyama?
