  • Applying temporal cleaner several times in VirtualDub?

Does anybody have advice on using the temporal cleaner filter several times in the filter chain? I read in the documentation that this is possibly a good thing to do.

I've had limited success running the filter twice, although I didn't run them in the same chain; I filtered an entire video once, decided it needed some more, and filtered it again. Sometimes it makes people's faces look "cartoonish" because little things get removed when people are moving (facial blemishes and whatnot).

kefoo: Usually, I recommend if you apply it more than once, you do it before and after a resize (or something like that), and the second time should have much lower thresholds. As Eric VanHeest points out, if the thresholds are too high it does end up giving odd ghosting artifacts.
BTW: Still working on a another big upgrade...

Could you fellas have a quick peek at this thread and see if my questions about the temporal cleaner have any relevance. Thanks.
