Is there a way to make the preview window keep it's size in MS Pro?

After I set up the screen and save it the setting should stick, right?

Well, whenever I open a previously saved project, the preview window is a little smaller than what it should be. I think this happens at other times when working as well. Has anyone noticed this and is there a way to correct it?

Have you unchecked Resize in the Preview menu?

Yes, I did uncheck "resize" in the preview menu. Still, everytime I open a project that was saved with the screen setting I want, it opens with the preview box smaller than it should be.

I had this problem too. Create a custom frame size for what you want, in my case 360x240 (half-size DV) and then select it as the frame size.

From then on my preview window and source window open at the correct size. Jerry clued me in on this, as I'd never noticed the create custom frame size option on the file menu before.

Yes, I did create a custom frame size of 400x300. I like to preview at 3x4 aspect ratio since that's how things will finally be displayed on the tv screen. Perhaps MS Pro "reverts" to a aspect ratio of 720x480 or something.

If you are exporting DV, it'll go to the TV as non-square pixels at 720x480. Try a custom size of 360x240 for your DV and see if it "sticks".

Analog usually goes out as 704x480 for NTSC. When you import a 4:3 jpeg (640x480, 1024x768 or whatever) MSP "resizes" it for the non-square pixels so it comes out at the correct 4:3 on the TV.

What happens if you "load" the 400x300 setup you saved?

If I load the saved setup it's fine and I can continue to work the way I like the desktop set up. Not a big deal, just one of those little things that is annoying.

Yeah I know where you are coming from. But making the 360x340 custom frame size meant I could stop having to choose my "custom layout" everytime I started MSP. Puzzling why this trick didn't work for 400x300 custom frame.

Is 400x300 now a choice in your frame size menu? I know the first time I did it, I missed clicking somewhere to make it permanent.

Yeah, I did that a few times too. You have to create a custom size and then click "add" to get it saved.
