  • problems MJPEG capture

For one or another stupid reason I do not succeed any longer in capturing MJPEG avi's. In the PC-VCR the capture starts, but upon ending I get the following message in a window with header 'VIDPRES':
'Unable to read the file information'
An avi is saved on the HD, but I can not read play it with MediapPlayer, although I can open it in VirtualDub.
Capturing in VirtualDub does work in compatibility mode, but the file, again, doesn't play with MediaPlayer. Capturing in standard mode results in the message: 'Error getting compressor output format size'.

I have no idea what went wrong here, I used to have no problems capturing before. I tried re-installing Matrox Video tools, tried both 1.52 & 1.54, no help though. Anybody familiar with these problems ?

I don't know what's going on, but I've gotten that error before when using MJPEG under VirtualDub when I had too many video buffers (I used hundreds with the WinTV before realizing that it wasn't helping with anything). I had to drop down to 5-10 before MJPEG would quit giving me that output-size message.
