    My captured avi shimmering/shaking

    Hi again folks,
    I've captured a two hour movie from a VHS tape using Virtualdub with the PicVideo mjpeg codec at quality 19.
    I used TMPGEnc Plus to encode at a VBR of 4500 and the movie itself looks wonderful but where any text appears, ie titles/credits at the beginning and end, the words shake up and down slightly.
    It's not such a problem on the movie I've just done but I guess any movies with subtitles is gonna' look real bad!
    I did the same with a thirty minute tv show (captured off digital tv, not VHS) and the same thing happened.
    Anyone know what could cause it and what the remedy is?

    It almpst sounds like the field orders are reversed either while capturing or encoding. Play with the settings a bit. If it isn't doing it on the captured video, then I suspect TMPGEnc is the culprit.
