I just got an ilink/firewire card (belkin). It's OHCI 1.o compliant. Install was troublefree. I am able to capture but...
I'm using a Sony D8 camcorder. When using Ulead Videocapture 6.5 /WDM directshow driver, everything seems to be working OK. When I hit escape to stop the capture, the video capture program freezes up and I get the hourglass. Task manager (win2k sp2) says the program is "running" but I have to end task to shut down the program. I then go to the avi file and double click it. Windows media player plays it fine. If I try to open it in Tmpgenc it locks up the program and I get the hourglass. Same with MSP 6.5 video editor. I've also tried capturing using AVI/IO and DVIO and I get the exact same results. What am I doing wrong? It would seem to point to the Microsoft WDM.
I tried searching the archives here but when you can't use words like DV and AVI because they aren't 4 char or more, it's tough. Any search tips would also be appreciated. Thanks.
