  • Rainbow Runner, Mystique and Win2000

I've got a Geforce 2 MX as my primary display.

I want to run an 'old' Mystique 170/220 PCI as the secondary card, cabled to a Rainbow Runner in an ISA slot. I would record using the free PIC video codec or similar.

The Mystique installs ok under Windows 2000 using a W2K CD driver, but there is no Power desk.

This means the RR NT drivers refuse to install without Power Desk being present.

I tried installing the last-ish NT Mystique drivers from Matrox, but they refuse to install via Setup.exe in Windows 2000.

Anyone got any tricks for achieving what I want to do ?

I *believe* that the Mystique has to be the primary display device. How the GeForce takes that is up for grabs.

Thanks. Yes I have read that, in the Matrox RR NT docs, I think. I would designate the Mystique as the primary card in 'Display Properties' when using the Rainbow Runner.

However this does not address my fundamental problem of getting Power Desk installed, so I can then install the RR software.

Anyone got any tricks to try, e.g. bypassing setup.exe, or copying .DLLS directly?
