NEED HELP !

My first capture under Windows ME:
Matrox PC-VCR
A cartoon tape 90 min.
At the end of capture i get 3 files: 3.01 GB,3.09 GB , and 67 MB !!! Not the olds Two GB files !!!
The last one is ok, but the firs two only play fine in Avi_Io, i get an error from all of the other video tools (ex: Virtual Dub Error:"Invalid AVI file: LIST chunk <4 bytes".
I have to make a VCD for my son.
I don't want rent again this tape, plus i'd like to know more about this size problems.

No idea. I can only think of capturing it again with 1.8 Gb filesize limit and then converting them to one MPEG VCD stream....however i also have a 900Mb mpeg but now i can't make a VCD because it is too big for the cd
