How to convert Pal to NTSC video???

Hello

I was wondering if there's a way to convert a PAL movie to NTSC and
vice versa at home. Sometimes I order movies from U.K and Canada, which
needs to be converted to NTSC format so the movie can be viewed on my VHS. I
own do own an AIW128 and a Matrox Marvel G400 which I think can be used to
perform this task. Can anyone tell me how I go about this and what do I
need? My video system includes:

Amd K7-Duron 650mhz
192mb PC-100 SDRam
30gig WD EIDE HD
2x4x8 CDRW
8x DVDRom driver
All In Wonder 128
SBLive sound card
Cannon ES970 camcorder
Zenith Hifi 4head VHS VCR

hi.. I have done it the other way around..
converted NTSC to PAL.

You need to have a source of playing the pal tape though.. <maybe a friends video?>
then set the input in the MATROX PCVCR thing to PAL record the video, have to do it in chunks if its a long video (mine was a short)

then go into your editing software.. peice it back together.. and make sure the output is set to an ntsc res and 30fps or 29.9 or whatever.. then click play and be prepared for an overnight render.. then in the morning click play again and hit record on your ntsc video..

does all that make sense.. or am i just babbling on

You shouldn't need to bring the footage into an editing suite. The Marvel is capable of "on the fly" conversion, but at the moment I am unable to check this with my current configurations.

I have done this in the past from NTSC to PAL.

Unfortunately the above ideas aren't much use with an AIW

Sorry, I don't have any experience with an AIW, wonder if I can get one for testing purposes ?
