The RT.X100 works fantastic on the SiS 745 chipset as well. Mine's happy as a clam on the MSI 745 Ultra.

I hope Matrox can make same kind of offer to current Parhelia users, whenever the next gen Parhelia will be available...
You know, it could be difficult to sell this Parhelia to anyone because of "banding".

It runs sweet on the MSI 745 Ultra (SiS 745) & a fast AthlonXP or one of the quality SiS 6xx boards for Intel.

Mine's purring along nicely on the 745 Ultra....so much so I'm almost hesitant to upgrade it

Never have seen banding on my Parhelia and certainly not on the P-750.

Before you complain about this take into account how many stupid calls they get and how much they cost Matrox to handle. Then take into account the cost of a support call to AVID or some other prosumer and higher video products or even Microsofts "support plans"

Example: Maya. This 3D package has a product support cost of between $1300 and $1500 per year, and you have to purchase the plan to get software updates. While expensive they are down from the several thousand $$ they cost under last years contracts.

Matrox's $30/problem (not just one call) is actually pretty cheap by comparison, especially when you consider you can get online support for free.

Maybe so Doc but then why don't they just bill the Stupid callers who are trying to use the tech sppt for 2nd hand KIT.

I just got my RTX.100 through yesterday and had to go through the registration process to ensure i qualified for tech sppt etc.

It would make more sense for them to allow registered users an "allowance" of say 1 or 2 free "incidents" per 6 months/year before they started charging for it.

After all the .100 is not a $50 video card. I would expect some continuing loyalty from matrox beyond the 1st 6 months after having spent about $750 upgrading my RT2000 to an RTX.100.

The fact that Micros**t / AVID and others rip people of for tech support it does not necessarily follow that everyone should charge in all curcumstances for support.

                Regards

Thanks for the reality check GT40

I had a late night last night and a hectic day today.

Not in the best frames of mind.

s'pose i'ts the principal that annoys me

It's not such a huge issue as in all the times I been using Matrox product ( 10+ years ) I've never called their tech sppt once.

I find these forums much better

                    Regards

RT.X100 is the same card as the other RT.X100's, but with earlier drivers and a different software bundle.

RT.X100 Xtreme is the same card with new driver set with enhanced features being released in a few days. Existing RT.X100 owners will be able to download and use them.

Otherwise the differences are in the software bundle. The Pro bundle gets the full version of ReelDVD Studio instead of ReelDVD LE.

RT.X10 Xtra likewise is a new driver set with enhanced features that will be downloadable for existing users.
