STOIK Video Converter (aka: SVC)....

This ones been hiding on ZDNets download site for some time, but it's one useful 268kb freeware download. As per their blurb;

Convert WMV and AVI files, and change fps, frame size, and compression codec of video stream, sampling depth, frequency, and number of channels of audio streams. Stoik Video Converter also detects scene changes and splits video by episodes. SVC exports scene clips and scene-separated projects for Stoik's Video Man 3.0--a video editor included in Morph Man 3.0.

What isn't mentioned is that it can compress the audio stream to whatever installed formats you have (MPEG layer-3's on my system) while doing it very quickly.

All in all not a bad tool to have in the kit....
