  • Ulead Video Server Plugin

    Hi to all!

I'm trying out this plugin from videotools.net. Followed the instruction on how to frameserve using MSP6.5. Unfortunately, my frameserving is not successful. After the registration popup window another popup window appears and it says:"AVI2IPC no possible output format is selected for this input format. Disable the conversion matrix or select an output format for the input format". After I press OK another popup appears:"Ulead Video Server Plugin not able to create AVI file".

Then when I try to look for the *.avi in tmpgenc... nothing!?

    What did I miss out?

Hope somebody could help me. Many thanks,
    Gef

      Hi Dr Mordrid,

Thank your for your reply. I followed your tutorial and same thing happened. Is it because the version I'm using is the trial version?

Can't tell since I've never used the trialware. Maybe someone who has can chime in....

It has nothing to do with the trial version. I've seen this message with the registered version. It has to do with a proxy conflict with virtualdub. Run proxyoff.reg from vdub's AVIPROXY dir and you should be fine (There is a notice - BUGS section- in the readme file that comes with videoserver plugin)

Beats the problem I had, try to frameserve from MSP and it would lock up my system. I finally fixed that with a fresh install (not because of that, but it was long overdue) and then the trial period had expired. Had to buy it to try it out and glad that I did. It is one of the nicest plugins I have ever used. Good layout and does a lot more than just frameserve, it can use a seperate audio encoder and then do pulldown and muxing. Very nice and fast.

You are going to like it a lot.

                  Have to resurrect this thread...

I have exactly the same problem Gef reported and running proxyoff.reg changes the values in the registry but does not fix the problem.

I have also deleted all instances of virtualdub(and gordianknot) from the registry and the drive.

                  Any new ideas?

Maybe its time for a new install of XP.

BTW. Doc, if you read this thread...the ADVC100 is great! That first capture of an hour of old vhs tape was truly painless.

                    Glad to hear it Laurie

Why not just try reinstalling the VideoServer AVIWrap codec *.inf and recopying the *.vio to the VIO folder? You never know....

                      Thanks Doc,

In a moment of great weakness last night I decided to just do a new clean install of XP and then try not to install so much extra crap I don't need. Hope that fixes it...keeping fingers crossed.

Yes, but it's not as fast as VideoServer, isn't quite as configurable and doesn't include in input server (Link2) that adds input formats to programs that otherwise wouldn't load them.
