Hi,
I have not seen any real life numbers, or benchmarks of anyone using a Matrox Marvel G400 with a P4 2.8 Gig 800 FSB and with Windows XP Pro. Or slose to it. any high performance P4 with WinXP and the Marvel G400. I am interested in keeping the Marvel G400 on another computer after I upgrade mine that currently has the Marvel G400 in it. Even though it is the G400 with only 16 MB, how will it stand up under all that power, and newer programs and games? Or will I have to sel it because it isn't worht th hassle. I like the MPEG Hardware on the card. If I leave it on a second computer with a new P4 CPU WinXP, let my wife and daughter use it, and still crunch video files. Deskptop publishing, childrens games. How well does it hold up for this? I am going to replace it with a P4 and a Radeon 9700 pro in my computer. It looks like anything under a 64 MB video card is not worth anything now. Not all money wise, but as far as running the computer and software. Will the Marvel G400 choke, as nothing but a bottleneck? It has the AGP 4x notch on it, but 16 MB G400 might not be good any longer. What about keep it as a second card, just to hard to swap it out to use the MPEG Hardware, then when finished swap back to a newer card.....acckkk, al that is too much work and hassle.
feels like a funeral is in my very near future for the Matrox cards I now own..... sigh**
