    You wouldn't believe how much "push" there is to make major new software releases "XP ONLY". Sad but true....and a royal PITA.

      Thanks for the links and info, I checked out all the reviews. What's the catch? It seems great!! Is anyone else using this device? What's the down side? Can you choose a codec for capture within a program such as Video Studio, MSPro etc, as with other analog capture cards, for example, if I plug in an analog camcorder? What is the native capture format in this instance? I don't know much about the DV realm.

        You capture simply as straight DV; no analogue codecs are needed, as the conversion is done in the box, which means there is no additional video quality loss when editing and re-rendering. It has the additional advantage that, with MSP7, you can monitor on a TV set how your final project will look during editing, making finer adjustment possible, without taking up an extra graphics card port.
