  • drivers...

for some reason I had the matrox emergency boot disk in the floppy drive and it trashed my drivers on win2k sp3. I wanted to know if there is a new set of drivers for the marvel g400.

the drivers I was using before?

    disply5.39
    video tools 2.04
    mjpeg_patch

this new mainboard I got is the best I have ever owned. the asus A7N8X deluxe is highly recommended in my opinion. it uses that fancy spancy dual memory buss thing on the gforce2 chipset.

    thankyou.

I knew a test driver had been released by some polish guy (I think) but I didnt know it was posted officially on matrox website. good for matrox for a change. heh, but shame on them for not having this all fixed to begin with.

ic. then we all thankyou very much for that fix for matrox. now, this whole "logon as administrator" thing has got me all messed up. I never set a password for the video box and I just did now, logged in under my account name and it gives me this error message:

          Error
You do not have access to make the required system configuration modifications. Please rerun this installation from an administrators account.

what did I do wrong and why do you have to log in as administrator at all? I dont want to deal with entering passwords unless I have to and since that machine is not on the network it does not need a password. can I remove passwords later so when I boot into windows I do not have to enter a password?

          thanks.

http://adis.szm.com is not Matrox's officially website.
I created that page (after creating VT 2.04.015a) to help
Marvel G400-TV users who wants to install this card under Win2K/XP.
Now, this driver works with G200-TV, G400-TV and RRG cards.

After that VT versions b, c, d was released and uploaded.

I'll continue with updating this page and XP VideoTools.

You need to log on as computer administrator only when installing VideoTools.
              Be sure Registry is modified.

yes I am logged in as "Adminstrator" and then you goto the registry setting you said and under permissions?? you add "administrator" from the list right? than you close out registry editor "regedt32' and run the install!

then it gives me this error message again!

                    I really don't know what's the problem...

It's only important to allow installation to write some entries into Enum.

In XP it looks like this
                    Attached Files

ok I have tried everything. your installer still does not see me as "Administrator" even though I am logged in as "Administrator"

any ideas here please? btw, I cannot stand this password protection crap for reasons like this. then if I goto disable it, it will like trash my settings.
