  • MSP 6.5 Stops after 16mins of rendering

    Hi to everybody!

Can anybody tell me why this is happening to my msp6.5? When I create a 50mins video, setting it in either entire project or preview range after a while msp6.5 stops at 16mins. when I continue where it stoped, again it stops at same length.

    Appreciate your advise.

    Many thanks,
    Gef

What operating system are you using and what filesystem are your HDD's formatted to? What codec are you using to export your files (DV, etc.)?

      Hi Dr. Mordrid,

My OS is winxp pro, hdd is ntfs format. My files are captured with virtualdub under huffyuv codec using seamless capture. Then I edit it in msp6.5. I then create the edited video by frameserving with pluginpak. I then open the file in virtualdub and use divx5.0 as my codec then I frameserve it again for tmpgenc for creating the final vcd file. After 16mins of the film has been renedered it msp6.5 stops.

Am I doing something wrong with the frameserving?

Well, for one, do not use DivX in there, it is comperssing it before you frameserve it and while not only slowing the system down, it is going to really reduce quality.

Try uncompressed video in Virtual dub to feed it to TMPGEnc.

Another issue may be that you are double framserving, depending on the handlers, they may get confused or something. Kind of like a conflict. But it would probably srash at startup if that was the case.

As I understood from the post of Dr Mordrid in other threads you can daisychain (that's the term he used) from msp=>virtualdub=>tmpgenc by using the frameserve capability of each application. Could it be possible that the premature stopping of msp is contributed by daisychaining? What do you think Mr Mordrid?

            Hi Gef,
I have used double frameserving many times with success but with videoserver plugin and not pluginpak ( MSP65->Videoserver->Vdub+filters->Frameserving-> whatever). Probably is either a conflict with pluginpak and vdub frameserving or with the DivX codec which is useless since you frameserve from vdub (as Sciascia has already mentioned).
Have you tried to do the same with videoserver plugin?
