  • DVD Burner Advice

I'm thinking of getting the Verbatim Producer 4x +R dvd burner,

has anyone here used this much? successes? drawbacks? software compatibility, primarily i'll be using, mspro 7, dvdmoviefactory1,2 and pinnacle instant copy.

    thanks.

I use a Sony DRU-120A DVD +R/RW DVD drive. I use MS Pro 7 and DVDWS. No problems here. YMMV.

well i decided to get the TDK Indi DVD +R. i got it for 200$ , pretty good deal i think, and it works flawlessly so far, even can record on the fly from an analog source into dvd format.

as far as media, any suggestions? i tried fujifilm brand and it seems to work well, altho the DVD +RW won't play in my standalone thats supposed to be able to play them.

      any ideas? thansk

I've very good results with Verbatim and Fuji DVD+R. The compatability of DVD+RW is way overstated in terms of standalone players.

I haven't found a difference in set top player compatibility in terms of the brand of media I've used.

My +R dics seems to play in just about all Sony, Samsung, and Apex players, to name a few.

I can't play DVD-RW or DVD+RW in stand alone players. Two players tested.
The same RWs play fine in computer with SW DVD (WinDVD)
I burnd them with NEC ND-1300A.

I can play back DVD -R and +R media (and here all I have tested: Verbatim, sunstar, Sony) in both my players (Onkyo DV-S555 and a cheap Cyberhome player).
A DVD-RW disc did work in the Onkyo, but not in the Cyberhome (the latter simply refused the disc).
I did not test DVD+RW and most likely won't, because DVD +RW discs are incredibly / ridicously expensive here.

DVD burner was the NEC ND-1300A.
