  • Marvel G400Tv + channel frequencies

Its that time again. For a change my cable provider has again changed all frequencies adding some very exotic ones this time.

I know it is a very old problem for which the registry needs to be changed. This time round though it is not working for me unfortunately. I searched the forum and found some new information I wasn't aware off, but am still at a loss. I therefore would like to ask you for some advice and answers hopefully in trying to figure it all out.

I'm using the latest VT2.04.015d and PDV5.88.061 for w2k. (Thanks ADIS for keeping supporting)

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Matrox\RainbowRunner\0 \TVTFreq
= key storing all tuner frequency related information??

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Matrox\RainbowRunner\0 \TVTFreq\TVTCountry
= key storing users country thus selection of its default frequencies / audio modulation under above key??

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Matrox\RainbowRunner\0 \TVTFreq\CurrentFreq
= key storing currently set frequencies??

I tried using "Quick Connect" but it won't find all frequencies. Some frequencies found under "Cable" are not found under "Antenna", even though I entered the correct frequencies there. It finds the station but produces "---" for the channel thus making it non selectable. When I manually edit the frequencies under \CurrentFreq the channel disappears from the list!!

I think the key to all problems is in the way frequencies are dealt with by the software, but I do not understand the relation between them. In my case. How are the S, U, V and E channels under PAL_BG_NTD related to the "Air" and "Cable" list below it?? Additionally, is the key "BandWidth" under PAL_BG_NTD the frequency bandwidth under which the channel is selected as the scanned channel number??

I also found some old tip where "decibel" mentioned to deactivate the "memory" checkbox under "TV-settings" before changing the registry. Current version of VT doesn't have this though, so I can't try that one.

Hope that any of you can shed some light on this. I wouldn't want to change the G400-TV as to me it is still the best combination for what I want with analog capturing.

Thanks for any assistance offered, Leon
