Hi All,

This video was produced using the RT2000 and Premiere 5.1C, it's the begining of an event video called "Maser Miglia III" kinda like the good ole days of the famous Italian race called "Mila Milia" which means 1000 miles.

The format? Mpeg1 VCD, converted right from Premiere's timeline, the original footage was shot using the XL-1 and captured in DV.
Mpeg-1 sure doesn't do the quality justice but hey, it's better than nothing.

Sorry for the file size of the clip, but I hope to get comments, good or bad are all welcome.

Hi Elie!

I love the particular cut with the camera tracking by the front of one of the cars, the sun glinting off it. The cut is timed perfectly.

Nicely timed cuts, too, felt like a real rhythm was going on.

Great VCD quality, amoung the best I've seen when viewed full screen.

Personally, I hate the "MTV" jump style (Aryko: "real rhythm going on") of video where lots of little scenes not really worth watching substitute for a story. You've certainly got that style down right. But since its the intro, if the rest of the video fills out the scenes then I bet it'll be great!

Aryko: That's the intention for the begining of my 1 hour video, I'ts sorta like a montage of everything we did during the event.

wkulecz: I got the idea from many TV shows that I saw on Speed Vision etc, My clip is based on hilights during the coarse of a 1 hour show, This clip also shows how good mpeg-1 can be when converted from the timeline in Premiere from a DV source (RT2000)

Do you know of a way to get it to work in Windows ME?

What settings and mepg encoder did you use for that clip?

What's Premiere got to do with it?

I thought it was the real time MPEG encoder (C-cubed DVexplore chip)in the RT2000 doing the work.

I'd love to see the same clip saved in DV and converted to the same VCD MPEG1 format with TMPG "free" software encoder and a note as to how much slower to encode the software was than real time on your system.

CMB, I'll try it and see of it works, I chose the default VCD profile at 352x240 29.97 fps 16 bit audio.

hehe, that's exactly what I did The footage was captured and edited in Native DV then converted using TMPG from the timeline in Premiere, and what I originally meant by that was, that you didn't have to create a file first then convert, but you can do it right from the timline saving you a step or two.

thanks for the info elie

The profile thing in win98se is easy
you just untick the mtloader in devices
and thats it.

but in WinME you have to go into startbar/msconfig/start programs, and untick the loader there too.. this unfortunatly is universal and effects all profiles..
so the only way to do it.. is to untick. and reboot, which is kinda annoying.. annoying enough for me to stick with 98se for now.. i was quite impressed with ME too. seems faster... and booted quicker... ah well :O)
