    Hmm... Can't speak about the Videonics color corrector but the Sima SCC I have is worthwhile even if you don't need any color correction becuse of its "sharpness" control which adds a bit of HF emphesis to compensate for the loss going to VHS. Tapes are better with it in than without it even if no other correction is done (although if you over do it there will be artifacts). This was an pleasant bonus that made the added expense more palitable. But I agree it shouldn't be needed.

    I have an NTSC G200 Marvel and like I said, was never able to get good color balance on the output that matched the input. The Sima SCC did the trick. Today I saw an ad from Electronic Mailbox that if it wan't a misprint, looks like SIMA dropped the price quite a bit to about $90.

      Doc, I don't doubt that the unit you have helps to improve picture quality, but I had to laugh when I saw what the marketing guys for this product had posted at their website. Here's a couple of "Before" and "After" shots supposedly from a Canon XL-1.

      How gullible do they think we are? I'm sure any owner of a Canon XL-1 would argue that their "Before" shots look a bit better than the example posted! Elie, are your shots this bad?

      Back to my original problem- All I want to do is to be able to adjust the TV output (brightness, contrast, saturation, hue) from my Mill2/RR-S while playing and/or editing Mjpeg files. If I can't do it from the desktop, I'd like to find where in the Registry these settings are. There's gotta be a way.

        If you really want to get some gorgeous VHS and the ability to reconstruct even horribly degraded video try the Elite Video BVP-4 Plus. I've got one of those and it's one fantastic device. I use it on both captures and recording to the decks.

        Check it out;

        On sale for $629. It ain't cheap, but then what is at that level?
