  • Washed out DVD's with Mspro 6.5

I am capturing video from VHS with a Miro DC30. I then use the picvideo mjpeg codec to edit the footage in MsPro to create a DVD compiant mpeg2 file. The original captures look great but as soon as they are converted to Mpeg2 they look terrible. All of the contrast is gone, the colours are washed out and the whole picture seems brighter. I have all of the Mpeg2 updates installed and I have even tried the advanced option. At the moment my DVD collection looks terrible!

    Any ideas?

How about posting a *.jpg of one frame from your MPEG-2 so we can take a look? Load it into Video Capture then use Capture/Single Frame/To file....
