Jumped in and bought RT x10

I have now progressed from simple movies to complex issues. The big problem is that I am getting a hardware lock each time I try to capture with Adobe after 2-3 seconds. Capturing from VCR

I have installed MSP 6 but find that I am unable to capture with this prog. The capture driver is unavailable.

I have read that AVI_IO is best for capturing but I am unable to find a trial download that is current date.

If you are able to help I am grateful

To use the Ulead capture tool you need to activate the Ulead VfW capture plugin. Also note that there may be two capture devices listed in Ulead capture, AVI_IO, VidCap etc; the WDM capture driver and Matrox's. Pick the Matrox one.

Try turning the undo levels in Premiere down to about 3-5. Also go here and do the Win2K optimizations for editing;

If you are having lockups, you are probably having some hardware issues.
I've captured from vcr upwards of 2 hours without probs.
Best to contact matrox or check the rtx.10 forums.

What kind of cards do you have and what slots are they in?

An off topic matter though. I have always used Norton Ghost and saved the ghost file on processing to my second HDD. Now that I have formatted the drive NTFS. Ghost doesn't see the drive. ??

What versio of Ghost is it? Some don't see NTFS....

This is on the boot disk. I think this indicates that NTFS is recognised
