  • G450eTV PC-VCR playback no audio

Please help - PC-VCR playback on my G450eTV has no audio

I had configured my Matrox G450eTV on a P4 with 875P chipset and AD1980 based onboard audio.

Using the latest Driver 6.82.016 and VidTools 2.10.010a, and have latest BIOS (Setup257)

DVD-Max is working fine, along with DVD playback - audio comes out of the TV

I recently got cable into my room, so I configured the channels and can watch TV fine in PC-VCR - audio comes out of the TV

However, when I tried to record via PC-VCR, I find that during playback, there is NO AUDIO!

I checked the TV connections, the G450 Audio-Out is routed to sound card Line-In, and Video out goes direct to the TV, while the SoundCard Audio-Out goes to the TV.

The Volume Control has all playback options NOT MUTED, and Recording Control has Line-In checked (I'm sure this is what you'd want me to check)

PC-VCR Recording Settings set for highest res, and Video & Audio. There are no frames dropped during recording.

Any ideas on what is wrong?

        Thanks.

After finding some simiiar threads, I decided to uninstall VidTools 2.10a, uninstall the Windows drivers (6.82), run Vidtools Cleaners, then reinstall the drivers again followed by VidTools.

The audio works OK now during DVD viewing, PC-VCR TV viewing, and PC-VCR playback.

Just thought 'd share this before closing this thread
