Is the 2 gigabyte size limitation still in effect with the E450? What are some ways around this if it still is? I believe I heard that its a problem with windows 9x based operating systems. Does the problem occur with 2000? Does the new card even work on 2000???? Thanx.

2 gig size limitation?

The 2 gig file limit is a FAT32 "feature", not just a Win9x issue. If you use FAT32 in Win2K you still have the same 2 gig limit.
Also, if the software you're using is OpenDML compatable (ex: MSPro6 is; Premiere 5.1c is not) the file size limit in FAT32 is 4 gigs and unlimited in Win2K/NT4 using NTFS.
The Win2K driver issue is up in the air for a couple of reasons. Certainly Matrox has to come up with Win2K drivers for the eTV (and Marvel), but this is complicated by problems that still exist in Win2K's VfW-WDM translation support. This problem first cropped up in Win98 with the introduction of WDM drivers and was fixed, then disappeared in Win98SE and re-appeared in Win2K.
Matrox has work to do, but they aren't alone. Many other analog card makers are in the same boat with oddball incompatabilities. One example: the Windows 2000 TAPI is incompatible with any ATI video cards that have TV tuners. Go figure....
My personal feeling is that Microsoft doesn't have fixing this anywhere near the front burner. Their Win2K video editing emphasis seems fixated on DV.
