Install the latest VIA drivers and then ATI drivers

After uninstall of both versions try deleting:

    C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Application data\Ulead Systems\Ulead MediaStudio Pro

    C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Application data\Ulead Systems\Ulead MediaStudio Pro

    C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead MediaStudio...

    then reinstall MSPRO7

Ignore the above advice re VIA drivers: your board has an i845PE chipset. Are you sure your RAM is PC2700? Is the CPU P4c or straight P4? Make sure there is no overclocking. Are your BIOS settings correct for your hardware? Which OS are you using?

The Nimo codec pack causes a lot of strange issues, including crashes in MSP 6.5 AND MSP7.0

          Hello all,

the CPU is a intel celeron
          OS : XP Pro

the other info requested: i can't answer, sorry.

          but i think it's driver/codec related.

i experimented a bit and when i delete the Nimo codecs, MSPro7 starts up and doesn't crash anymore but the preview files are played up side down and some preview files have sound but no image or the other way around

          very strange

          another issue :
when i try to work with a AVI template everything looks OK
when i try to work in a Mpeg template everything crashes again

i have no problem with formatting my new system if i know what to do when reinstalling everything and be sure things work well

          thanks for you advice.

It sounds as if you have vestiges of something nasty in your registry.

If possible, your safest bet is to start again from scratch: reformat all your hard drives, reinstall your WinXP (and all the hardware drivers). As soon as you have everything working as it ought, then install only MSP7. It should work OK then.

Tough, I know, but sometimes necessary.
