  • Video Tools and VBI

adis, does your video tools support output of VBI data in DirectShow?

I have a G450eTV and would like to experiment with extracting teletext data. Other cards such as Hauppauge have a VBI pin on the capture filter which can be used to extract all of the VBI data, but unfortunatlely the Matrox capture filter (for the G450eTV at least) does not have a VBI pin.

It *is* possible to access the VBI data for this card because it comes suppiled with a teletext viewing program, but it looks like Matrox decided not to implement the VBI pin in their DirectShow capture filter.

    Does your set of drivers

    a) support the G450eTV, and
    b) have a VBI pin on the DirectShow capture filter.

    Thanks

    Colin

    Hi colinbr

unfortunately Adis's Video Tools rely on original Matrox's driver because it's very difficult to develop new one, especially on your one and without proper card specification (Driver Development Kit), which Matrox is unwilling to give.

Oh well. Looks like I'll be ditching my Matrox TV card in the near future and replacing it with a bt848/878 based one (ATI or Hauppauge probably).

That would be good idea if you are into gaming and general multimedia.
