  • Best 19" monitor for less than $500US?

Can anyone recommend the best 19" monitor for 2-D clarity and NLE purposes for under $500US?
    Thanks,
    Riddek.

    Hi Riddek,

I can only recommend what I've got and use daily which is a 19inch Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 900u. Although the first one of these I had developed a strange ghosting effect, it was replaced under warranty and I've had no problems at all with the new one (touches wood!) The tube is a Natural Flat Diamondtron (Mitsubishi clone of the flat Trinitron) and both colour and sharpness are very good. Here in the UK I think they are coming in at around 400 GBP which should be within the upper end of your price range.

I'm using a DELL 19" FD Trinitron at work. Easily the best monitor I have ever used. Excellent color, contraxt, geometry, sharpness. Rock solid display. Currently running at (NT 4 SP 6a) 1600 x 1200 at 85hz.

Not sure if you can get it for <400 but, my guess is it's worth any extra you'd have to pay.

I have a ViewSonic PS790 19" at home. It is good enough for me but no where near the quality of the DELL.
