  • Placing transparent logo in a clip

    I am making a 5 min demo tape for my daughter and in the lower right hand corner of the each clip I would like to place a small size transparent logo and program name from the tv program that that clip represents, like UPN or ABC logo that is in the lower corner of network television. I am using RRS & MSP6 VE. How can I reduce the size and make them transparent. Normal size would fill the whole screen. Help is much appreciated.

    Dale,

    You might like to try downloading VirtualDub
    http://www.186.pair.com/vdub/index.html

    This is a video editing/capture program that can run plugin filter effects, one of these is a logo builder called LOGO.

    Download LOGO at
    http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/P...8699/logo.html

    The LOGO builder is capable of doing transparent logos and also animated logos, simply from bitmap images that you make in any simple art/photo program. The size of the logo in the video is simply dependent on the dimensions of the bitmap image, which you would, by trial and error, enlarge or reduce as necessary, and then import into the video which has been opened in VirtualDub.

      Dale,
      Sorry if the VirtualDub link didn't work. Try this one:
      http://www.geocities.com/virtualdub/

      Download the latest version of VirtualDub (1.4c)

          Using MSPro;

          1. create a *.tga with transparancy of the logo. Make it the exact size for best results & fast rendering, but you can scale it later if necessary. You don't have to be *too* precise.

          2. import the *.tga into MSPro onto an overlay track (V1 etc.) and stretch its duration to cover the time interval desired.

          3. Open the Overlay Options and select a key type of "alpha channel". To make the logo semi-transparent set the "transparncy" slider to some value between 50% and 75%. Close the Overlay Options.

          4. Now apply a basic 2D moving path from the Production Library to the overlay. In the Moving Path options set the X/Y location and scaling of the overlay to locate and size the logo to your needs. Set these values the same for both the start and end keyframes so the logo doesn't move during its time onscreen. Close the Moving Path options.

          The overlay should now appear overlaying the background video.
