  • Where to buy a Rainbow Runner G-Series in Europe??

Can't seem to find it anywhere, searched all over the web.. on the matrox shop, I only find the Rainbow Runner Studio for mystique and milleniumII cards in the europe section. I'm begining to wonder if there's a RR-G PAL version at all! Help please..

    Hi Bruno,

There definitely was a PAL version of the RR-G, but I'm not sure that all that many were produced. As I recall it was about the time that they were opening the Ireland factory, and possibly priority was being given to G200 Marvel production.

I don't know anywhere that you could definitely buy one, but try phoning Matrox UK direct and ask for Sales or Marketing. The number is 01753 665621

Yes there was definatly PAL RRG's but they were rare gems!

Had a Heck of a time getting one myself and even worse trying to get a new when the first one died!

( Me: It's been a month since i sent it in, where is it?
Person 1: We hawe sent it to matrox in germany.

Person 2: we hawe not sent it because some cables are missing... oh they where inside the box.. well send you a new one right now.

Person 3: They are not produced anymore so you'l get a refund.

Person 2: You can't get a new one or a refund bacause we have'nt got those cables...

Person 1: HM... We hawent recieved a replacement part yet from matrox germany.

person 3: I sent that refound out days ago!

      Etc,etc)

This sux big time! The RR-G would be the perfect solution for me, cause I have a G400Max. There's nothing else out there that has a tv tuner and hardware mjpeg compression/decompression. I suppose I'll just have to get a tv tuner card and a capture card maybe from pinnacle, the dc10 or dc30.. although I don't see how I'll be able to record tv programs.. only if I get a tv card with video out.. if there is such a thing!
