I need a new DVD player, any suggestions?

Can anyone suggest a good DVD player? i'm looking for something that offers some sort of picture enhancing like jitter/noise removal and stability. A friend of mine bought a JVC D2000BK not too long ago for 300$ and now on just his 2nd DVD viewing the player is giving him problems. It seems to freeze up.. Or sometimes it recovers and continues to play video then freezes again 4 seconds later, I think maybe something is wrong with his laser alignment maybe. But anyway can anyone suggest a good player, high cost is not a problem.

you might try a panasonic dvd for your home system they have very sharp image
or the sony' but they have a softer image than the panasonics
