Not a bad price , but does it had a hard disk?? These days I think that a HD is a must for these type of recorders..paulw -
The Toshiba model doesn't feature a hard drive.
But it really doesn't need one since the DVD-RAM format behaves in similar fashion to a hard disk.
The Panasonic DMR-HS2 has a hard drive.
But it's price is way higher.
The lowest price on http://www.pricegrabber.com for the Panasonic DMR-HS2 is $728.88.

Yup...and some sub-$100 USD Panasonic decks now support DVD-RAM.
