Did anyone try WMA8 or WMV8?

I know, I know, every reason man would say, that I should try it myself and tell everybody how does this new Microsoft killer of Divx stand.
Let's put it this way. I am just bringing it to your attention. And if you test it, why wouldn't you share with me the experience... in return.
I am particularly interested in hardware specs demands and benchmarks.

Check out the Audio/Visual forum on www.arstechnica.com There's a whole thread about it plus a neat little GUI program.

It seems that Mpeg4V2 is still the way to go because you can't use V8 with Virtualdub.
