You are correct X-C this is silly. Sorry for Ray leading this thread of yours in an offtopic/off the cuff rebuttal against anyone pointing out the facts to him.

Tis so childish. For that I am sorry.

-Ray, you have alot to learn, experience and appears that it will require another thread which to clear out those ignorant cobwebs that cloud your logic.

oh yes I have alot to learn and you know it all.

It's my opinion that's all if you don't like it too bad, you can just ignore my posts in the future.

You're the one who decided to pick the fight anyway it wasn't me. I was only stating facts that you would rather brush under a rug.

I know where my monitors came from... you don't. I'll pay extra for that... and a longer warranty no problem.

For the record I am 35. Not exactly the punky kid you thought eh?

The advice I have given is sound advice whether you like it or not.

Not to chime in on this silly feud, but he clearly indicates on that ebay auction that the monitor is reconditioned.

Condition: Manufactory Reconditioned. Like NEW! Condition.

            Rays' resolve...
You're the one who decided to pick the fight anyway it wasn't me. I was only stating facts that you would rather brush under a rug.
            to my post...
            Ray,
From the perspective of an EE which would you rather own, a fresh off the factory floor model (unknown if it works/ not exposed to potential infantile death) or one that's been gone through with a fine tooth comb and tested to meet the specs?
I don't see the connection to your flying off at the handle. Sorry, I just don't see it.

Age has nothing todo with maturity, intelligence or if you can see the forest from the trees. Guess that's three things you are seriously lacking in... and to think, you're the same age as my little brother. He sure has you beat

BTW I'm not sweeping anything under the carpet. You are misguided by gross assumptions that Sasq pointed out and yet still deny it. *sigh* so sad

Your first post to this thread:

              Ray,
From the perspective of an EE which would you rather own, a fresh off the factory floor model (unknown if it works/ not exposed to potential infantile death) or one that's been gone through with a fine tooth comb and tested to meet the specs?
Hmmm? and how did I respond? I gave you my life history of monitors... not attacking you at all... your second post is attacking in nature... you drew blood first gramps so get off it.

              From your second post:

And for everyone you buy at premium I can purchase 3-4 of mine and without return shipping fee assessed. Stick that where your warranty don't shine.
not true, depending greatly on brand the biggest difference I've seen is $150. Usually I buy mine on sale from a store, not over the web... so shipping doesn't apply until after 2wks-30days and even then the store would more than likely exchange it for the same. Over 3yrs that's $50 a year.

However, you make it sound like if I go out and buy a monitor tomorrow it won't work when that simply is not true.

And just how do you know how a refurb is checked. I am a little skeptical of that. For one the add shows a Sony monitor, but HP has it. So HP refurbed a Sony monitor. Fine tooth comb or not HP is not Sony and vice versa.

I am not going to buy this because it's cheaper its better. You get what you pay for.

With statements like this below you have lost my respect... You attacked me first with no reason... re-read the thread it's there in black and white.

              From your second post
Mutual respect for one another from the days when we had a Matrox beta test team. I was one of the select few BBz. Let alone Moderator of General Hardware/Software for three years. Or have you forgotten? Youth generally do have short memories/lack of respect for their elders and or peers in general. Sorry I'm not from the Nintendo/MTV/Jerry Springer generation.
Huh? I don't know what you are talking about... I don't even know who you are and I have been on the RT2000 boards since Oct 2000

Sadly you took what I had pointed out personally instead of facing facts or even remotely considered them. Your bad. But don't let that stop you from continuing to make an arse of yourself here. I'm rather enjoying it. In a silly sadistic kinda way, like when a driver has a deer caught in his headlights.
The above paragraph really gets me... what you had pointed out??? huh? what did you point out. FACT's what facts? This has been nothing more than opinion. If you have facts post away I'm waiting to see it. Add some links or what ever you can come up with.

I have said nothing about facts, I have said from my first post that this is my OPINION.

I have worked in an assembly line type production atmosphere in a past job. There are plenty of tests done to insure mass amounts of product won't come back. Do you think GM test starts every car after it's made? It's obvious that sometimes a bad one slips thru... that's what the warranty is for. If you take it home and plug it in and it don't work it's a short trip back to the store to get another one.

If you buy a refurb and that happens whether you have free shipping or not which is more painful? Well unless you live next to the refurb shop. Don't say that can't happen... things happen when shipping is involved... anything can happen.

If your going to continue this list facts, not heresay or I did this and I did that. Give me hard proof and I'll look at it. Otherwise let's just put this as a difference of OPINION and move on.

Granted people, if you like refurbed monitors go ahead and buy one... I promise I won't loose any sleep over it. I was only stating my opinion that's all.

1 yr is a long time to some people.

I am an HVAC Technician at my day job, so I work on broken crap all day long. I have better things to do with my time then fuss with a bunch of refurbed junk. That is my opinion and I am sticking to it. So your proof is gonna have to be thick! Yes, I have seen grown men cry when they found out they didn't purchase and extended warranty for their A/C... well that's a whole other story..................

Yes, which is all your fault because you asked me a direct question in your first post. You were looking for a fight that is very obvious now.

You must've been a bully in school, prolly didn't get much respect then either huh?
