  • passthru old vhs-c to minidv?

    hi!
i have an old vhs-c camera, Panasonic PV-D209, which has a standard rca output (video + mono audio). Also i have a Canon Elura 20MC, which can record from analog sources, with either an s-video input, or rca (video + 2x audio).
How can i do this, i also have a Matrox g400 Marvel?
I tried to playback to screen and use the dvd max or clone output but didnt't worked, as the video card didn't want to do it, even in 24bits .
    Any ideas?

I assumed when I first read this that you are trying to capture from your old VHS-C to your PC via your Canon DV CAM Firewire ??? though I get the impression that you are not using Firewire but your Matrx card

I have a Canon Optura 20 and I do it from VHS or Hi8 source by removing the DV tape from a Canon, setting the direct of DV flow to AV>DV. Plug the Firewire into the camera and run up the capture program and I can see the external pictureon the PC monitor and capture.

If you arn't using Firewire I suggest that you one as it is far easier that any analog capture card to setup..
