Video capture from VHS

I have a Pinnacle TV Rave, I am trying to capture video off a VHS tape.

Video goes in fine but the audio is really out of sync bout 5 seconds.

What frame rate and capture resolution is normal for a VHS tape? I live in UK. I am using the WDM drivers. Is there any free software you could reccomend?

Have Xp 1700, Audigy 2 .

There are quite a few factors that can cause this to happen.

Start with a frame size of 352x288 (1/4 PAL) at 25 fps.

Keep the resolution at 800x600 16 bit

Capture small clips

Try a demo version of AVI_IO
