  • huffyuv codec ?

If i save to huffyuv from an avi of 768x576 Pal
(6140kb/s),which is the best settings my system can handle (pinnacle dc10+), i get distorted horisontal lines in the middle of the picture. If i use 720x540(crop)it looks fine. I dont understand this. I have done it from ulead msp 6.0, and premiere 5.1 with same result. In the studio dc10+ software it is not possible. I can choose the huffyuv codec, but nothing happens when i try to save the file, if i take some other codec it works fine.
Bye the way, is it really worth the effort(disc space) to capture in max quality (768x576/6000 kb/s)when you scale it down to mpeg1 352x288 ?

    1. Don't bother capturing the 768x540 format if 720x540 will play properly on your video output. The extra is just more overscan that won't show up on the TV anyhow.

I dare say most of us use either 704x480 or 720x480 for full frame video with overscan. You can go as low as 640x480 (little or no overscan) if the playback will be on TV's that are in adjustment.

    2. No.
