  • Capture-tool which recognizes scenes ?

Does anyone know a tool which is able to continously capture a video while detecting scene-changes and saving these scenes to **separate** files (preferably whitout loss of frames between them - like AVI_IO does when the filesize-limit is reached) ??

Try Scenalizer, www.videox.net. You insert there a file, and it cuts it in scenes. If the material is captured in DV format, it works just fine. It has an option "optical recognision". Maybe it works with analog? Just didn't try.

VideoWave 4.0 recognizes scenes as well.

I just downloaded Scenalizer and tried it, but unfortunately it seems it can only handle DV-Files, with MJEPG-AVIs some errors occurred.
As for Video Wave, I couldn't evaluate that yet.
Anyway, thanks for Your hints !

Try Handysaw ... you can download a beta here http://members.nbci.com/_XMCM/handysaw/

I played around with it for a while and it seemed to work OK. I thought the price was a bit steep though (USD 45).
