  • a VCR-Marvel G400 connection question...

    I have an old VCR that has no video-out (scart or AV), but the "regular" (round, antenna like) out, that plugs into the antenna-in of my TV.

    The video "broadcasts" its signal in UHF32.

    When I tried to adjust the MARVEL G400's tuner to that (or any other frequency), I was unable to tune Marvel to receive the VCR's signal.

    Is it possible to do that?
    How can I capture VHS-tapes with marvel, using a VCR that has no AV or SCART-out?

    TIA

    In NTSC we have to use VHF channel 3 or 4 and it works fine with that. My wife uses that setup on her Marvel system to do timeshifting. (She likes to watch her craft shows while playing Mahjongg ).

    In your PC-VCR setups do you have the channel setups set to Air (antenna)?

      I tried both (air & cable) with no Luck.

      (My VCR is PAL and I am almost positive about the UHF32)

      But now that I know that it's possible, I'll keep trying...

        This is what I'm doing...

        1. RF-out of VCR---->Antenna In of MarvelG400
        2. A tape playing...
        3. Scanning (antenna or cable) with Matrox Remote.
        4. The Marvel doesn't sychronize with the channel that the VCR transmits..

        I also tried the utility "Matrox TV Channel scanner". With this utility you can put the exactly (in MHz not channels, though) channel.

        I found that UHF channels (21-69) are in the area 470-850MHz.
        The UHF32 is 559.25MHz (vision) 565.75MHz (sound) with No Luck whatsoever...
