  • MSP 7 capturing

Trying to capture dv with MSP 7. Want to have files captured on a slave drive. Can't seem to figure this out. Anyone know how I can do this? Any other advice would be appreciated too.

Im not sure what you mean by a slave drive?
does it show up as a drive letter then you should be able to select it by browse in capture ...video ...window.
if it doesnt have a drive letter i think you could capture to a temp file then transfer to the" slave drive" does this help or hinder?

Thanks for the reply, Smitty. I have 4 hard drives. MSP defaults to saving captured files to my C drive. I just want to change it to my D, G or H drive.
When I go to capture....video I do not see "window". The "file specification" has browse next to it but I can't use it to change the location of captured files.
I imagine I just missing something simple here.

from the main menu at the top you go to the "capture" tab
it then opens up and choose the "video"
then a window with "options" and "advanced " tab pops up
stay on "options" choose a capture method except "batch" (if you are on batch click the "batch" tab to the right you will then see a location slot and "browse next to it)otherwise 3/4 of the way down it says "file" with a window to the right of file.
"browse" is to the right of that if you are capturing
select "browse" and a window will open that at the top has the location of where your capture file is going. click on the "down arrow" to the right of that and now choose the drive and folder you want the capture file on. then down near the bottom enter the capture file name you want and click save.done

Thanks Smitty. I was in the right place on the menu all along. Finally got it to work by deleting the default *.AVI in the box when trying to save the location. Appreciate your help.
