  • Hard drive capacity for capture Re:TMPGEnc?

I have recently downloaded Huffyuv v2.1.1 and have succesfully installed it. It now shows up in my codec list. I have also downloaded TMPGEnc to convert to MPEG-1. My goal is to make a vcd to play in my Apex dvd player.I have easy CD4 and burner and a 10 pack of Kodak Gold. I have read thru the forum to follow the guidelines. My captuing format is UYVY and my codec is Huffyuv. The capture is not running smooth and droping frames. I have run a test on my hard drive, one with Mindbeat -
    C-Drive 14611 kb/sec / Write - 50MB test
    65536 Block size
    And one with WinTune -
    Cached disc C:\ = 103 MBytes/S
    Uncached disc C:\ = 3,92 MBytes/S

I have set Huffyuv to its lowest settings and still experience problems?

    AMD Athlon 600
    MS motherboard w AMD-751 / AMD-756 PBC updated Bios
20-MB Maxtor udma66 7200 rpm HD (not partitioned)
    128-MB Ram
V6600 Deluxe video card Svid in/out comp. in/out
Any input on on this problem would be appreciated.
P.S. I can capture in the asus codec (I think its MPEG-4) Works just fine.
    Thank you.

Capture using avi_io and make sure you have DMA enabled for your capture drive.
