No combination of filters could be found!!!

I made some installations/ reinstallations of videocodecs. Now I can't play any *.mpg files (neither mpeg1 nor mpeg2). Mediaplayer writes the following: 'No combination of filters could be found to render the stream'. WinDVD plays everything good. How to correct this situation?
