  • WinDVD quarter screen TV with G450 with DVDmax on w2k

    Installed a new G450 and the most recent 533 drivers from Matrox's website on windows 2000. Enabled DVDmax and anything media play plays displays full screen on the TV. Quality is great! This is a neat feature. Using PicVideo MJPEG codec I can now play back my G200 marvel captures and have an output good enough to record on VHS tape.

    Fired up WinDVD 2.3 and a VCD2.0 I made with Nero on CD-R. WinDVD plays it back fine both in a window or full screen, but the DVD max only shows the video in a quarter screen un the upper right corner overlayed on top of "snow" on the remainder of the TV screen. I've using the composite A/V input on my TV. Any ideas on how to fix? If I play the VCD *.DAT files on the CD-R in media player, they are full screen on the TV.

    Sounds like a scaling problem in WinDVD than anything else. Have you tried a dedicated VCD player yet? I-VCDP is one to try;

        Thanks Sciascia,

        THat was the clue I needed.

        I had to click "Always Scale to Full Screen" and "Preserve Source Cropping".

        Now WinDVD playback on the TV is great (considering the source is VCD).

        Any ideas as to how to make HuffYUV captures play on DVDmax? They play smoothly in Media Player.
