Corrupted Project file in MSPro 7

I've spent the whole of today editing a video in Ulead MediaStudio Pro 7.0. When done, I was trying a few interlace settings and saved the project file several times. Now I can't load the project back, it is giving me the following error:

Invalid Parameter

16850-3-2

Any idea how I can recover my work?? Is there a project repair utility anywhere.

Haven't come across this one before.

The way it works is the dvp file for a project lists and co-ordinates all the files (or parts thereof) used in the project. These may be the original videos, stills, audio files, titles, effects and temp files. If this is corrupt, then there is little that can be done to recover it. This is why it's always a good idea to make regular back-ups. If, for example, one of the other files becomes corrupt, then it tells you that it cannot be loaded. As, under normal circumstances, the input files are not modified, there is a relatively small risk of their becoming corrupt, although it can happen. However, using Smart Trim may cause problems. The most usual source of problems is with the temp files used for Smart Rendering and previewing. These are usually in separate directories, which you specify in your Preferences|General and Preferences|Preview tabs. I suggest you back up these directories and then empty them (or rename the directories and put back the original names). If you can then load your project, you can start tracing what is causing the problem by gradually restoring the files back into the directories.

Did you happen to render the project to DivX before the last save? That used to cause this to happen.

I have to say that I have never heard of one of these corrupt project files being recovered. Sorry to say that but I've been there as well.

One last thing to try (Worked for me once years ago)

Insert the corrupted project into a new project.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Unfortunately none worked. So had to start project afresh . Oh well, that has thought me to every now and again to save the file and then go to explorer to make a copy of the just saved file, thus building a history. Certainly it would have been useful if Ulead provided (1) some sort of recovery utility and (2) a backup feature.
