  • Video software recomendations

Just purchased a Sony PC5 camera. I'm looking to get a Firewire PCI board and video editing software (maybe a pc card for laptop too). Any good combo deals out there (i.e. Pinnacle). I've got version 5.0ve of Ulead MediaSudio Pro that came with my Matrox card. Sould I just get the upgrade for that? Also looking for photo software that will produce nice looking web based photo albums to be hosted on Microsoft IIS. Any suggestions? I've glanced at Ulead's photo products, how are these?

    Thanks,
    Rob

ADS Pyro in the $100 group. ADS Pyro Pro or DV.now.AV in the $300-$500 group. RT-2000, Canopus DV Raptor or DV500 in the $500-$1000 group.

    ADS Pyro: http://www.videoguys.com/pyro.htm#pyro

    ADS Pyro Pro: http://www.videoguys.com/pyro.htm

    DV.now.AV: http://www.videoguys.com/DVnowAV.html

    RT-2000: http://www.videoguys.com/rt2000.html

    DV Raptor: http://www.videoguys.com/raptor.html

    DV500: http://www.videoguys.com/dv500.html

    That should get you started.

For a basic setup I'd go for the Pyro Pro. The software bundle is worth the extra over the Pyro. In the upper group I like the RT-2000 enough to have one. Great card, especially with the new drivers and Win2K support coming soon.

Yes, the Ulead photo software is great stuff. PhotoImpact 6 makes Photoshop look bad in a lot of areas.
