Thanks! I have been using antec power supplies and mostly Asus MBs Now I have heard about some high failure rates on the newer Maxtor drives( my old ones have been good) any experience? have not decided on the g550 yet , but will certainly keep that in mind.
ps " ( oh and a raptor)" what where you thinking?

      Hi Smitty,

Raptors are very fast rpm hard drives. Available only in 36 or 74 gb . http://www.wdc.com/en/products/curre...wd740gdrtl.asp

There rpm is 10,000 and they have a fast read/write time. I can only imagine how fast theyy would be in a stripped raid. Kinda overkill, but its nice to dream. I have 2 maxtors hard drives and they work fine. I have 4 wd and a few others. But I have killed 2 seagates and 1 wd. It hurts when you can't retrieve files and you lose rare footage. I'm not sure who makes good drives anymore. I just back up most important things. Tell us what you decide on. Michael

Thanks Michael thats cool I hadnt heard of those.Man they would be fast! I'm thinking heavy on reliable a little lighter on speed as DV capture doesnt require that fast. But your right it would be nice in a Binford 4000 . hoo hoo hoo

          hard drive reviews

Check out www.storagereview.com to get clued up about the latest hard drives. They have reviews of the Raptor SATA drives there as well. They are highly recommended, especially for video editing applications where data transfer rates are critical. At the moment you would save yourself some bucks or get more capacity by sticking with ATA drives however. If you go for SATA, try to make the stretch to the larger drive, you'll need it for bigger projects. Compare with 120gig ATA drives which are right in the sweet spot in terms of bang-for-buck.

ok just spotted exactly this problem (only showing one field instead of both and keeping correct order). This is with powerdesk 5.91.008... sigh.. I guess I'll have to downgrade till I find a powerdesk version which doesn't break this.

I'm using the 5.82.018 drivers for the Marvel G450 eTV, the newest available from Matrox's web site for Windows XP. There don't appear to be any newer or WHQL certified drivers for the eTV.

As noted earlier, I have to turn off the "use field based scaling" to get the card to output both fields to the television. I'm in the USA so I use the card in NTSC mode -- don't know if there's a difference between NTSC and PAL handling.
