I use photo background paper of either a luminous green or cobalt blue color in rolls mounted on a ceiling frame. This allows me to curve the bottom of the paper at the floor-wall junction so an edge doesn't show there.
The background is lit by full spectrum flourescent lighting on the walls and ceiling around the background. There are panels mounted to block the background lights from being seen at the camera position.

hey doc, when us ay photo paper, you mean just standard backdrop paper froma photo store, does it have to have any specific texture or tint ? i can't find anything special where i come from lfor B or G Screening. Are color codes important ....ie..cobolt blue...etc ?Asus P2B @ 100Mhz

Yup. Regular photo backdrop paper with a matte finish will work fine as long as the lighting is very even.
For an idea of proper shade of blue make a bitmap with a background that is;
Red: 10
Green: 90
Blue: 180
For a green screen these settings are close;
Red: 70
Green: 170
Blue: 34
Print each out and you can use it to compare to the shades your photo shop have in stock. The flatter the finish the better.
One uses a green instead of a blue screen for the following reasons;
1. Any portion of any subject contains blue
2. Difficulty in keying with a bluescreen
and many others only experience will reveal. I also keep white, black, yellow and red paper on hand for color and luma keying.
