Don't know if these work as I haven't had time to try yet, but thought I'd pass 'em on.

    Hi,
In TMPGEnc, under "GOP Structure" change your P Frame Count from 5 to 4. I think this will fix your problem. It worked on my Philips DVD player. I think 4 is the SVCD standard, and the 5 that is the default setting in TMPGEnc is wrong.

By the way, I just burn the output of TMPGEnc with Nero. I don't use iAuthor and Fast Forward and Back work.

For the first one (GOP structure) I use 1,4,2,1 for PAL encoding as I was told that it was better for PAL and the default 5 is 'better' for NTSC. Reducing the number (e.g. 5 to 4) will increase the size of the final MPEG. The FF/FR issue is linked to sequence headers I believe. certainly pre V12 TMPGEnc needed to be re-muxed (by bbMPEG for example) in order to work - but I haven't had any problems with SVCD's created with 12a in my Philips DVD711 - they FF/FR without any problems.
