  • RT 2000 Won't install! HELP!

HELP! I have a RT2000 (with a G400 of course) that just won't install. Win98 won't install drivers unless you force the drivers in and then the RT2000 won't see it.

    I have:
    AMD 800 (thunderbird socket A)
    Gigabyte 7zx
    SCSI 2 card(adaptec)
    RT 2000
    G400

I have tried a couple of different G400 cards just to make sure it wasn't a hardware problem, but it seems to be that it isn't.

I have the latest AGP miniport drivers from AMD and I just upgraded my bios. Any thoughts?

It won't work in plain-Jane Win98 (aka: Win98 Gold). You'll need Win98SE, WinME or Win2K (this for the 3.0 public betas).

Also make darned sure you have the right G400 card. The one that comes with the RT-2000 is a special one, the G400-Flex.

My suggestion would be to use Windows2000, even if it is with beta drivers and the new versions of DVDiT and Inscriber aren't up for the public yet. It's a STRONG setup.
