  • made my 1st SVCD today!

Well, since I don't have my Marvel to output to tape anymore, I decided to just bypass VHS completely.

I have joined the world of SVCD with TMPEGEnc, Nero, and my new Pioneer DV-333 to play them. It is a whole different world!!!

    I will post further results.
Tyan Thunder K7, 768MB Registered DDR ECC, 2xMP2200+, Radeon 9700 Pro, Adaptec 2940U2B Ultra2 SCSI, TB Santa Cruz, Pyro 1394DV. RAID 0 stripe set on hacked Promise UltraTX2 with dual WD 120MB SE drives. HP DVD200i DVD+RW drive.

      jeepman,

Does your SVCD do fast forward/reverse your Pioneer DV-333?

Ones I've done and tested on players at Circut City no fast forward/reverse on Apex :-( On the DV-333 fast forward reverse moved thru the video showing still frames updated about every 1 sec, better than nothing but not too useful.

Don't know if the problem is TMPGEnc, Nero, the players, or all of the above?

        wkulecz,

Same result here with the DV-333. At least I could get further along. I actually had a VCD that was about an hour, and I was able to get to the end pretty quick.

This sure is nice! I can't wait to create a bunch of SVCD's now.
